Please take a moment to review the event procedures below when planning to attend an event.
It will help to make your experience easier and more enjoyable.
You can download a printable copy to print out and take with you using the download link to the right.
Join the Club, make your plans early and we will see you at the track!

In an effort to help everyone, new members and everyone participating, the following is information on the process for future reference on event procedures. Confusion can be avoided and everyone will know what to do and what to expect. If you plan to bring a friend, pass it on so they are prepared as well.

FIRST: Don't leave home...without checking yourself out!!!
Be sure you have your AMA card, HMGP member card, among money and the other essentials. Check the website and that of HSR. Click on event info, there, the drop down schedule appears, click on the event you are attending Event info usually provides a schedule of daily routines and your track times. Print and bring with you, as I am subject to not having enough to pass out. This will indicate the day and time of gate opening the day before for set up and eliminate a half day wait to be able to get in.

AT THE GATE: Everyone MUST GO to registration/ticket sales. Tell the person assisting you, you are with Historic Moto GP, whether you are racing with the motorcycles or racing and displaying a bike ( if included in the program) or if you are working, your name is on HMGP list. HSR collects your racing/gate fees SEPERATELY from HMGP. You should ask for a parking pass, a pit bike pass or any other credentials you may need WHILE YOU ARE AT THE SAME LOCATION. We do not always know what is required at different tracks until we arrive but, ASK anyway to avoid confusion or 2 or 3 trips back to the same place.

YOU ARE NOT FINISHED YET!!! Once you enter the facility, proceed to the pit/paddock area, get parked and situated. Depending on your arrival time of day, HMGP REGISTRATION is open until 5pm. HMGP REGISTRATION IS SEPERATE FROM THE GATE. Everyone must get to registration. Here you will complete your entry. YOU CANNOT RACE WITHOUT COMPLETING YOUR PAPERWORK. This is the most important issue at EVERY event. Keep in mind, we are on a time schedule. You should allow 15 minutes to get signed in. If you delay, you may miss your track time session doing your paperwork.

HMGP became Chartered thru AMA in June 2010 for insurance coverage which means all riders must have a current AMA Membership and HMGP membership.

  1. Your AMA card, If you do not have a current membership, Life Membership, or it expired or left your card at home you will be required to complete a form, purchase a new membership. The annual fee is $39.00. If you have an existing   membership, your fees will be added or you may request a refund from AMA.  You may use credit cards for AMA, cash or check. This is mandatory and will be required at all HMGP future events, so you will need it!
  2. Your HMGP membership is verified, bring your card. You will be required to have HMPG membership to ride. The annual fee is $100.00. Checks or cash only. Currently HMGP has no credit card capability, but I am working on resolving this, depending on affordability.
  3. You will sign OUR RELEASE to ride. Again , this is separate from the gate, even though you signed their release, you must sign again to ride.
  4. You will be issued a "Tech" sticker to be placed on your bike so it is visible to pit out worker/s. If you do not have this, you will not get on track.
  5. Riders meetings will be held. We know it can be impossible to hear announcements, so listen up and ask for rider meeting times at registration.
  6. Secure your valuables before leaving your vehicle or trailer unattended at any time. Lock everything. Should you need any assistance in securing things, just ask at registration. This station is ALWAYS secured and probably the safest place to leave anything you may need in your absence. We will gladly take care of you!!!

Should you have questions on anything not covered above, Please, call Pam Vershure 770-365-9805 or Bill Brown 404-379-6091. We will provide an answer and if we do not know, we will get an answer and return your call.
